Über diesen Brand
Here, "Hirsch" (stag) actually refers to autumn, not the animal. The "Hirschbirne" is an old Styrian perry pear, small and stocky, growing where the climate is harsh. What it lacks in size, it makes up for in character.
Harvesting takes place late in the autumn. It is double-distilled in copper stills, with no added sugar or flavorings. 43 percent alcohol, not cask-aged.
A tart, hearty pear brandy with rough edges. We don't polish them away; they are the very reason for this brandy.
