The same heart cherry brandy, only with at least eight years in an oak barrel. What happens as a result contradicts expectation: The brandy does not become heavier, but lighter.

The clear heart cherry brandy is dark and dense. After barrel aging, it appears more agile, with a freshness that one would not expect from an old cherry. The model for this was the Swiss tradition of cherry brandies.

40 percent, 350 milliliters. On the nose, the barrel leads, in the mouth, the cherry.

Es nimmt Gewicht heraus, statt welches dazuzugeben. Der klare Herzkirschbrand ist dunkel und dicht, der fassgereifte wirkt leichter und frischer. Das überrascht die meisten beim ersten Glas.

Dieselbe Frucht, dieselbe Brennweise. Die Alte Herzkirsche reift danach mindestens acht Jahre im Eichenfass und kommt mit 40 Prozent in die Flasche, der klare Brand mit 43.
